DO-IT awarded new AccessCyberlearning grant from National Science Foundation

The National Science Foundation has approved $100,000 in funding for the “” project. Sponsored by -’s Access Technology Services (ATS) through its , AccessCyberlearning is a two-year project to address disability-related issues to help researchers and educators make the online experiences of learners effective for students with diverse characteristics. AccessCyberlearning will increase the capacity of current and future NSF-funded Cyberlearning projects to
- inform their research with what is known about student differences/disabilities.
- design innovative learning technologies and teaching strategies that are welcoming to, accessible to, and usable by everyone, including people with disabilities.
- ensure that project materials (e.g., project websites, videos) and activities (training, meetings) are welcoming to, accessible to, and usable by all participants.
-’s is the Principal Investigator and Director of AccessCyberlearning. Leadership also comes from UW Educational Outreach and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
