2000 Ambassadors
The following Ambassadors began participating in DO-IT as Scholars in 2000. They continue to pursue college and career goals and encourage younger DO-IT Scholars and Ambassadors.
Cerebral palsy. Earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´. Works for the Centers for Disease Control as the lead at the Section 508 Help Desk in North Carolina.
Cerebral palsy. Earned a master’s degree in education.
Blind. Earned an associate’s degree from Wenatchee Valley College. Attends Central ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ University, majoring in public relations.
Mild static encephalopathy, patella femoral syndrome. Earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´. Graduated from the funeral service program at the Lake ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ Institute of Technology. Works at a funeral home in Seattle. Married to fellow 2000 Scholar Nohemi.
Dyslexic dysgraphic. Earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, with honors, from the University of Oklahoma. President of Kellner Capital, a New York City based investment management firm.
Earned a bachelor’s degree in architectural studies from the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´. Enrolled in graduate school studying theatre arts at San Diego State University.
Cerebral palsy. Works as an advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at The Arc of Snohomish County as a self-advocacy coordinator. Facilitates the Transition Club at Lake Stevens, Marysville, and Granite Falls. Received a DO-IT Trailblazer award in 2010.
Learning disability. Earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ State University and a master’s degree in sustainable real estate development from Tulane University in New Orleans. Works for John Snow Inc., an International Public Health Development company, as a financial manager on a project delivering medical supplies to developing countries. Served in the Peace Corps in Bulgaria.
Cerebral palsy. Earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ and a master’s degree from Gonzaga University. Working for a non-profit organization in Seattle. Has a daughter.
Aphasia. Earned a bachelor’s degree in information technology and administrative management from Central ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ University. Currently employed with Nordstrom as a senior security engineer. Recently completed a certified information systems security professional (CISSP) certification.
Visual impairment. Earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Eastern ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ University; attends graduate school in vocational rehabilitation counseling at Western ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ University. Engaged and living in the Seattle area.
Cerebral palsy. Earned a certificate in culinary arts from North Seattle Community College.
Dyslexia and other learning differences. Earned an associate of arts degree from Shoreline Community College with two supporting certificates in film. Completed a conductor course at the National Academy of Railroad Sciences. Is a digital media manager for the Decision Education Foundation and lead mapper for Pivot Edmonds.
Cerebral palsy. Earned an associate’s degree in computer science; plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Married to fellow 2000 Scholar Brian and lives in the Seattle area.
Hearing impairment. Earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Eastern ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ University. Has a son.
