BISMCS 240 Working with Video (5) A&H
Introduction to conceptual foundation and principles of video production. Develops beginning to intermediate skills in video production.
BISMCS 260 Working with Audio (5) A&H
Introduction to the conceptual foundation and principles of audio production. Develops beginning to intermediate skills in audio production.
BISMCS 333 Media and Communication Studies (5) A&H/SSc
Emphasizes the skills of critical media analysis and creative media production. Addresses media representations and the importance of media in structuring contemporary society. Prerequisite: either BIS 176, BIS 177, BIS 178, BIS 179, or COM 200.
BISMCS 343 Media Production Workshop (1-5, max. 15) A&H
Provides hands-on experience in communicative practice and the production of media. Combines production and theory.
BISMCS 402 Community Media Practice (2-5, max. 20) A&H
Provides an opportunity to undertake practice-based work in community media organizing and media production. Students gain skills initiating and maintaining community-based efforts in the context of media. They also gain experience using relevant media hardware and software, developing programming ideas, and recording, editing, and distributing media content.

Provides focused study and production in a specific area of media arts and practice.
BISMCS 473 Visual Communication (5) A&H/SSc
Examines the everyday world of images, image-making, design, and visual culture. Introduces students to different visual methodologies, modes, and sites of contemporary visual production.
